It is mostly solid rock, but less viscous at tectonic plate boundaries and mantle plumes. Mantle rocks there are soft and able to move plastically (over the course of millions of years) at great depth and pressure. The transfer of heat and material in the mantle helps determine the landscape of Earth

That part of the Earth that lies beneath the crust and above the central core. On average, the mantle begins about 22 mi (35 km) below the surface and ends at a depth of about 1,800 mi (2,900 km). Predominant in the rock material are olivines, pyroxenes, and the silicate perovskite, a dense form of enstatite

Why there are different properties in the mantle and core?

Their different properties are due to their chemistry, pressure, and temperature.

Is the mantle divided into layers based on the physical properties?

no, it cant be the properties because the earth's mantle was thought to be different then what we think it is now. i am pretty sure it is where the sections are located at.

List the layers of earth by their chemical composition and by their physical properties?

by the chemical composition is: the crust, the mantle (upper mantle and mantle), and the core. (you can put inner or outer) by the physical property is: lithosphere, asthenosphere, outer core, inner core. hope i helped
