The Advantages to the One Child Policy are:• The growth of the population decreases. If China had not had the policy, from 1979-2011 they would have had an extra 2.4 billion population.
• There are incentives for the one child families. They are given free health check ups, their child is given the best education (top schools) and women's get an extra three months maternity leave.
The disadvantages are:• They won't have any siblings. So they usually get spoilt being called 'the little emperors.'
• The thing "Cousin" would never exist in China. For siblings don't exist therefore there are no such thing "Cousins: in China.
The major benefit is population control, which is supposed to help ensure an adequate supply of food, water and basic sanitation services for the population. In practice, this isn't working out as intended.
There are several major drawbacks. First, in traditional Chinese culture, a boy is preferred over a girl because the boy will carry on the family name. If you can have multiple children, you just keep trying for a boy. If you can only have one child and that child is female, you have to make a decision about whether to keep the girl or get rid of her and try again for a boy. This has led to thousands of female babies being abandoned in orphanages and other places, and the balance between males and females is greatly skewed towards males in the current generation, causing significant problems for the young adult generation to find acceptable wives. Second, this policy is considered a major invasion on human rights, only a few short steps above involuntary sterilization. Third, as noted above, it's not working - the population of China is still booming, there is not adequate infrastructure to provide the population at large with basic hygienic services and there are people who are simply ignoring the one-child policy in places where they are not likely to be caught.
hi:) its me again i answered the questin "how many people die a day of murder" and forgot to put smilly face at the end..... but time for the really questin the pros and cons of China's one child policy well there are alot of cons i can think of like what if you have another kid by mistake? would you really have the desency to kill your own flesh n blood? i wouldn't because youd love your kid or you should so the one child policy is a bad thing the only pro i can think of is that in a few years it will go back to normal and you can have more then one kid again i hope so because i hate the idea of killin a kid:( if u have more then one in china
pro: no overpopulation, making the density less big.
con: family names will eventually extinct if they keep getting daughters.
