The only pro is that you may, depending on the weather, have water with one or two degrees warmer than normal. This is also if the pool is not too large when there is no difference at all. People think that measuring the top 5cm of the pool's temperuture applies to the whole pool. Don't fool yourself. The cons however are that: statistics indicate that more people have broken their necks or sustained back injuries due to not being able to see the depth of the pool; Black alge is a nightmare as you only discover this by the time you need to drain the pool and hand scrub or resurface it to get it removed; The pool always looks uncarred for even with the pool light on at night it still looks dirty. You never have the pleasure of a sparkling pool to enjoy. Black simply does not sparkle, EVER! Warmer water has more alge growth. Should one live in an area where tempretures do not go above 20 degrees you should rather opt to pump your water through a solar type system where you at least have control as well. The same principile as with the salt water pools apply here. A marketing gimmic which everone had to change later as it was simply not what it promissed to be.
