The prospects of horticulture industry in Pakistan are very bright. We have 4 distinct seasons which encourage hundreds of species of plants to develop. Over the years, we have seen quite a few new varieties introduced in our various zones. Karachi is an ideal place for tropical plants, whereas Islamabad and the northern areas are ideal for varieties from cooler climates.
There are quite a few exporters of horticultural products from Pakistan, though the industry is still in its infancy. I am one of the amateur gardeners and am myself trying to enlarge the colour palette of my little garden.
