There are currently 12 races in World of Warcraft. They are split between 2 factions with six races on each side.
Alliance: Human, Night Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Draenei, and Worgen.
Horde : Orc, Troll, Tauren, Undead, Blood Elf, and Goblin.
In the soon to be released expansion, Mists of Pandaria, they will add a 13th race known as the Pandaren. This will be available to both factions.
