Why are people asked to remove their hats when they enter a public building?
Salute! a timeless tradition of respect. Originally applied to
churches as one would doff one"s headgear to God. It is just one of
those timeless customs-oddly in some churches women are REQUIRED to
have some form of headgear and wear it all the time. JMen, unless
either Royalty or Church officials(Bishops for example) just don:t
wear hats in church, but women seemingly always do if that is the
custom. there even were (Churchy) types of headgear as the famous
Empress Eugenie hat that was floppy and let-down on one side. still
popular with some Brides and of course Flower Girls. Can also have
damage control use in hiding head injuries in funeral applications.
