The red and white crowns are for the king and queen of Egypt, altough belive it or not they are only used in ceremonies to worship their ancient gods
The colors of the double crown were white and red.
The crown of upper Egypt was white, and the one for lower Egypt was red. Those were united in one piece.
In Egypt there were different types of crowns, blue was war, white was upper egypt and red was lower egypt
because the white crown symoblized the unification of upper Egypt and the red crown displayed the unification of lower Egypt. Later the pharoah combined both the crowns to show he ruled all of Egypt.
The "double crown" (sxmty in hieroglyphs)was simply the two crowns of Upper and Lower Egypt combined into one. These were much more ancient crowns, one red (dSrt) and the other white (HDt) which were worn in pre-Dynastic times by the rulers of Upper and Lower Egypt.The reason for the original choice of these colours is likely to be religious, but it is not known today.
There were many more than just three royal crowns and a far greater number of crowns worn by the gods.The usual royal crowns were the white crown, red crown, double crown, blue crown, atef crown and the nemes wig-cover.
