can I only take a phlebotomy class without taking the other medical classes?
yes you can take just a phlebotomy course. check to make sure the school is accredited and find out how long the school has been in business and check the better business bureau. The classes are 3-4 months. The american society of phlebotomy technicians in hickory, north carolina is where you will get your state license. check the website for more information they will list times and dates of your city and states certification exam. nothing is posted now i just left the site. i am seeking to be recertified because i let it lapse years ago. you will have to pay yearly dues and take ceu's regularly. i have not worked as a phlebotomist since 2005 and i am coming back now good luck everyone. janie houston, texas If you are interested in obtaining certification as a phlebotomy specialist, you will need to take a plethora of medical courses, including anatomy, physiology and blood cell biology.
