Well, at least in theory the church would argue a forced draft or shotgun marriage is wrong in principle, as would be holding a gun at someone and demanding money ( armed robbery) the essence is the so-called Diamond of Consent. an equal and free agreement on both sides. if this is not present, there are problems from (before start). On the other hand, they have long adhered to over-structural constructs- such as gender segregation in schools where there was no need for it- and still practice these things, toned down. It is not inconceivable some Priests have a grudge attitude about all marriages- make it hurt, make the whole thing an uncomfortable sacrifice ( possibly out of jealousy) They do not call the man Mister, for example- He could be something big outside- but no courtesy titles, please, on the other hand the pro-Maternal angle with the Wife and Mother is maybe taken too far- entering hymns such as (On this Day, Oh wonderful Mother). ( ignoring the reality of DINKS marriages).
