What SAT scores do you need? What extracurricular activities do you need if any? How much money do you need? How high of grades do you need? Is there an age limitation on applicable students?

ANSWER:

SAT scores and GPA (grades) vary. If you have a 4.0 GPA, the lowest SAT score you can get is 1900. The lowest GPA is 3.0 but it is hard to get in with a 3.0 GPA. People have gotten in with 3.3 GPA but had really high SAT scores.

There is no age limit

Hard work and being well-rounded.

I was a 4.0 (unweighted) student out of high school, but was originally rejected by UC Berkeley. I appealed my application and was accepted a month later. This just goes to show you that you need more than grades.

I suggest applying your leadership skills in high school. Join a sport. Get involved in your music program. Do some community service. Join clubs and get really involved. Apply to be president of your graduating class or editor-in-chief of your school newspaper.

If you feel that you've shown your talent, skill, and value as a high school student, when you apply to UC Berkeley, they will see it as well.

I believe you need well over 3.5, but grades are not everything.

I came out of high school with a 4.0 and was rejected by UC Berkeley. However, I appealed my application and was accepted a month later.

Thus, if you are considering UC Berkeley, do not consider your grades alone.

Make sure you are well-rounded. Do you play sports, do community service, are you involved with music, have you shown your leadership potential through leadership positions at school? UC Berkeley definitely looks at more than just your grades.

Its hard to say how important my volunteer experience was, but for all the uc's you basically need to have a high gpa, at least a 1800, sat 2 math, another sat 2 test, some volunteer experience, clubs, sports, other extra circulars, and good essays.

Average SAT math score:560 - 680Average SAT writing score:520 - 640Average ACT score:23 - 29GPA score:3.25
