Concerta is a brand-name for the drug methylphenidate. Methylphenidate is a central nervous stimulant; in most countries, methylphenidate is a controlled substance and carries penalties for obtaining or taking without a prescription from a licensed doctor.
Concerta can cause an allergic reaction in individuals, even if the past they have had no reactions: symptoms include hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, tongue, lips, or throat. In the event of an allergic reaction, seek medical help immediately.
Stop taking Concerta and consult your physician immediately if you have a serious side effect such as:
- fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeat;
- fainting, or feeling light-heated;
- severe headache, blurred vision, trouble concentrating, chest pain, numbness, or seizure (signs of increased blood pressure)
- easy bruising, or purple spots on the skin
- shaking, restlessness, hallucinations, unusual behavior, or muscle twitches
Less serious side effects that have been reported include: headache or dizziness, sleep problems, dry mouth, sweating, mild skin rash, numbness, loss of appetite, and weight loss.

Are there side effects to Lexapro and Concerta together?
I have been on this combination for a year now (10 mg Lexapro, which I just upped to 20 mg) and 36 mg of Concerta. I can't see any large side effects to taking both together, except perhaps excess sweating. Take Concerta in the morning only, especially if you have trouble falling asleep at night.

i would not advise taking any concerta while taking lexapro. I am currently taking lexapro and have taken concerta about 7 times. Each time i took concerta i would hear many scary voices in my head. i looked up the psycotic effects of concerta and they said that a side effect of concerta is hearing voices if you are on an antidepressant

Can you use Concerta with LSD?
I wouldn't advise it at all. MDMA is a stimulant and in combination with the concerta will likely significantly increase blood pressure, heart rate, and could result in a heart attack. Also, MDMA effects the release/reuptake of serotonin, as does Lexapro (which is an SSRI). It is possible that this combination could lead to Serotonin Syndrome or at least a longer hangover after taking the MDMA.

St. John's wort not only can cause a sunlight sensitivity but should also not be used in children under the age of 12. Additionally it's contraindicated in conjugation with concerta. It can actually worsen ADHD if taken with concerta. Other side effects are still unknown and it is suggested to avoid consuming both.
