Altac or Ramipril and ramiprilat (the diacid metabolite of ramipril) inhibit angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). Inhibition of ACE results in decreased plasma angiotensin II, which leads to decreased vasopressor activity and to decreased aldosterone secretion. Actually most all medicines have side effects, some of them might be listed and some are not and we didn't expect. But it will surely depends on how your body will react on each of that medicines because you know, not all of us are the same and our body might react differently with the medicines that we take.

Common side effects include a dry, persistent cough and increased potassium in the blood (hyperkalemia). Coughing resolves after discontinuing the drug.

Other important side effects include:

you can consult your doctor and then tell him everything about your condition so that he will know if those medicines will be good for you and will cause less side effects. I got here a information that contains about Altace. maybe this can help you to know more about it.

do Google with pharmacyescrow.org/s3115-s-ALTACE. aspx
