First let me say that no one should ever EVER give you, "a shot in the but," like they
always say. Your sciatic nerve runs through there and goes down into your foot.
They should never take any risk of hitting this nerve. They could probably paralyze someone this way.
Where they should give the shot is in the back of your hip. They should go into
that flesh you have right below your hip bones. There are not as many nerves there.
As far as the side effects you're asking about
it would probably depend on what drug you're getting. It would most likely be the same as
when you get a shot in the arm.
