• It depends on what the wife thinks love is. A husband could be a good person, but possibly quiet in nature and may not always say the right things to his wife or gives few compliments, but it does not mean he does not love her. Some men are more free with their compliments; a 'I love you' or a hug while yet other men may assume their wife knows that he loves her. The basics are if a husband treats his wife with respect; laughs along with her; gives her encouragement when she needs it or discusses it with him; is loyal (not cheating on her); may bring flowers every so often (not all husbands do this and still love their wife) or if he simply picks a rose out of the garden and brings it into the house to give to her with a smile on his face that is love. If he helps with the housework or tries in his own awkward way to be there when she is not well is a sign of love. Sometimes men find it difficult to show their emotions so it is up to the wife to start good communication skills with her husband so they can discuss how they feel about each other. Even at that a man that loves his wife may simply be surprised and say 'You know I love you' and he probably does. Remember, a husband can tell his wife too often in a day he loves her and be out cheating; gambling or drinking and does not have the faintest idea what love really is about.
