Signs of vampires as in appearance:

A well maintained and recently fed vampire shows a flush and has vigour. They also have a sensitivity to light, starting from a disinclination to direct sunlight and progressing to stronger aversions. Aside from these they are indistinguishable from an ordinary person. A person more familiar with vampires may want to add to this. A poorly maintained vampire at first shows a pallor as if anemic, then anxiety and obsessions progressing to frantic behavour. At extreme deprivation the body progresses to deteriorate: eyes become dry, hair falls out, the skin dies, and the body progresses to rot. Signs of vampires as in recognition signals: every vampire coven has a set of hand-signs or other such gestures that may identify themselves to other members, thralls, or associates. As there is no universal network of vampires there is little standardization to these but member of different covens may recognize those of another as, long-ago, they may have had a common origin and the signals are 'evolved' from a primitive set. Such signs are, of course, very secret, and are not for public discussion.
