Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, systemic illness that causes inflammation, stiffness and deformity of the joins. It is an autoimmune disease, That is it is the result of the body's own immune system mistakenly attacking cartridge in the joints and in some cases other organs such as the heart, lungs, eyes and epidermis. RA ischaracterized by an increase in TNF-alpha, IL-6 and other inflammatory mediators.

Gout is a type of arthritis, that is the result of uric acid crystals being deposited deposited in the joints. The body reaction to this is painful inflamation. Rheumatoid arthritis is an Auto immune disease, that is for some reason the immune system is under the impression that cartilage and in some cases other connective tissue are a foreign invader and there fore sets about destroying this tissue leaving the joints with no cartilage and causing further damage to adjoining tissue and bone.

Gouty arthritis on the other hand is the result too much uric acid building up in the blood, This leads to a situation where the uric acid develops fine pointy sharp crystals that find their way into synovial joints causing inflammation extreme pain joint destruction and deformity's, Gouty arthritis can also cause kidney damage and crystal build up in places like the ears.

Osteoarthritis is when arthritis is in 1,2 or a few joints in a persons body such as their ankles, fingers, hips, or knees, usually due to age or an injury. Rheumatoid arthritis, is an auto immune disease. It can happen at any age, even two children! since it is an auto immune disease it causes your body's immune system to attack itself, causing inflammation in ALL of your joints! It even attacks your throat and hurts ability to swallow food, which can lead to choking! Sometimes you may look at a person with rheumatoid arthritis and not notice anything wrong with them and other times you may see them with a cane or a wheelchair, the reason for that is because they go through flare ups, Which are sometimes kept under control by medication. Rheumatoid arthritis can be hereditary. Osteoarthritis is not hereditary.

Osteoarthritis is the result of wear and tear age and in some cases joint damage causes by truama such as breaks in the bone in joints etc. Rheumatoid arthritis on the other hand is an Auto imune disease that damages connective tissue often starting with the cartilage that covers the ends of the bones between joints. The immune system mistakenly attacks these tissue showing itself first as inflammation swelling and pain and if left uncontrolled will probably lead to the complete destruction and deformity of joints. RA can affect many other organs and parts of the body aside from the joints and can be completely debilitating if left untreated.
