The Latin American Revolution was similar to the French Revolution because, as a revolution, the people realized that they were being mistreated and were fighting for what they believed in, as well as equality or more representation. Other similarities include violence and a Napoleonic influence. Differences include that the Latin American Revolution was a revolt against a king by his overseas colonies, while the French Revolution was a revolt of the lower class against the upper class and the King. The Latin American Revolution also was a revolution for freedom and independence (similar to the American Revolution), while the French Revolution was being fought to overthrow the king. Another difference was that after the Latin American Revolution, the church gained power, while after the French Revolution, the church lost power.
I think current revolutionary wave in the Arab countries as same as was in the French revolution 1789, in my opinion, it will lead Arab countries to military Dictatorship that may be worse than this, and the same had happened in French revolution, Nepolin Bonaparte.

The only real similarity is that both take place in relatively the same piece of land. Otherwise the "Kingdom of Heaven" movie which deals with the Crusades and the current Arab-Israeli Conflict have nothing to do with each other. Please see the Related Question below to read about the differences between the Arab-Israeli Conflict and the Crusades.

Sir Tweets Alot... There is no particular philosopher or philosophy that motivated the Arab Spring. There was a lot of anger in the Arab world towards the repressive autocratic regimes. The instigator for the revolutions was Mohamed Bouazizi, a Tunisian street vendor who was so angry with how the government was treating him that he burned himself alive in protest and anger. The joke above "Sir Tweets Alot" is a reference to how protesters used social media like Facebook and Twitter to coordinate their protests and get the news out when the government tried to prevent news access.
Pan-Arabism has created an illusory sentiment of union in the Arab World regardless of the vast cultural and historical differences between the various Arab States.
