These biographies were full of stories of lust, indecency, perversion, lasciviousness, immorality, self-indulgence and even incest. Some of his writing was even worse that of tabloids. Since the Romans did not have newspapers, some of their writers, seemed to cater for the human taste for gossip and slander. In the case of Suetonius, it casts doubts on his qualities as a historian.
