1) rate of unemployment has rose to 7.8 % recently according to a survey carried out in 2010

2) poor children often coming from restricted areas like suburbs are deprived from education.

these children are often victims of social ills like crime, robbery and several others

behind this, lies a major reason. "we are helpless. we have to rob other people in order to satisfy our hunger and the needs of our family" said by the culprits when they are interrogated by police officers

3) poor access to clear water, proper sanitation often results in death of many citizens. There were 4,392 deaths registered during the first six months of 2011, 99 more than that registered in the corresponding period in 2010. About 8,950 deaths are expected for the year 2011, resulting in a crude Death Rate of 7.0, as compared to 7.1 in 2010.
