There is currently no war or conflict between the governments of Iraq and the United States. They currently have peaceful, if not strained, relations. Iraq currently has sectarian violence that the government forces and the Peshmerga (Kurdish Army) are trying to quell, but the United States has no role in this internal Iraqi Conflict since withdrawal in December 2011.
Its about USA not getting enough oil easily, so they will try to get it from other means.
