1. Jack up the front of the truck and support it on jack stands. You'll be able to get under it easier if you take the front tires off. 2. Remove the negative "ground" cable from the battery. You don't want sparks flying when you do this. 3. Crawl underneath and make a diagram of the wiring connections on the starter. Be precise. You're going to want to re-connect them later in the SAME places. Remove the wires. 4. Remove the starter. 2, may 3 bolts. Watch out for spacers (shims) as you're taking it off. Note their locations. 5. Take the starter with you to get the new one. There's a "core" charge if you don't have the old one to trade in. 6. Reassemble as you took it off. Shims back as you found them. Wiring back in the same places. Negative cable back on the battery. FIRE THAT BABY UP!!!
