A power inverter converts DC to AC , if you trying to build a power inverter then you need power invert circuit schematics.

There are some kind of specific inverters with the help of which you can easily convert DC power into AC power. In a solar electric system we generally receive sun rays in photovoltaic cells which contain silicon as a mechanical material. This mechanical material converts solar energy into DC power. This DC power is then redirected to a inverter which converts it into AC power and we restored this AC power into solar batteries.

DC current is changed into AC current in typical automotive power inverters. These power inverters are used to power AC accessories like TVs and Video Games using the cigarette lighter outlet in an automobile.

Answer

A.C. currents are expressed in root-mean-square values. An a.c. current, expressed in r.m.s. values, does exactly the same work as a d.c. current of the same value. In other words, an a.c. current of, say, 10 A, is exactly equivalent to a d.c. current of 10 A.

You can simply run it through a power inverter, the type you would plug into your cigarette lighter or clamp onto your vehicle's battery posts. I have also heard that if you pulse it, such as with a pulse width modulator and then run it through a transformer that it will activate the transformer and output AC.

You can convert DC voltage to AC voltage with an sine wave inverter or with a phased electric drive.

You can create an AC voltage by making and breaking a DC voltage. As long as the current is interrupted repetitively, an AC current is developed. This is the method behind the old automotive points in a distributor an a car. The DC current would be interrupted and the resulting current would be applied to the ignition coil, basically a 6 or 12 volt to several thousand volt step up transformer.

You don't need a fancy sine wave inverter or a phased electric drive to provide this AC current. Depending on what you require in the form of AC, a power transistor driven by a square wave and driving an inductor or transformer will produce AC for you.

Yes it can be done with a rectifier. There are several rectifier configurations you can use:

  • There is a bridge rectifier. That is using 4 diodes (which are often integrated into a single package) in a diamond formation, with 2 anodes together and 2 cathodes together, and then each anode to a cathode. That produces full-wave DC at nearly the input voltage (there are losses to using diodes).
  • You can use a single diode in series. That would give you half-wave DC nearly the same as the input voltage.
  • You can use 2 diodes with a center-tapped transformer. Connect the anode sides of 2 diodes to the main output legs of the transformer, the cathodes together, and a wire to the joined cathodes. That would be the positive terminal, and the neutral wire (center tap) of the transformer would be the negative. That produces full-wave DC at nearly half the rated output voltage of the transformer. That works because you have 2 half-wave circuits at opposite phase to one another. Cheap consumer electronics use this approach.
  • You can use a single diode and a capacitor to create a voltage doubler circuit. You would place the capacitor in series with the AC input voltage and a diode parallel to the output. During half the cycle, the diode clamps and charges the capacitor, and during the other half, the input voltage is in series with the charged capacitor, producing a half-wave DC output that is at double the input voltage.

To convert from dc to ac, the following steps are followed:

  • The dc voltage is stored on in the form a charge
  • The terminals of the battery are connected to an undulator that converts dc to ac.
  • The output of the undulator is connected to a transformer to step up the voltage.

What device converts dc current to ac current?

A "Rectifier" converts AC current to pulsating DC current.

Ac vs DC current?

DC (direct current) means the current flows only in one direction. In AC (alternating current), the current changes direction continuously (for example, 50 or 60 cycles per second).

What is the sign for ac and DC current?

AC means alternating current DC means direct current there is no polarity reversal

What is the difference between ac and dc grounding?

The difference AC and DC grounding is that AC is alternate current and DC is direct current. Grounding for both AC and DC is the same.

How can you differentiate DC and ac?

DC is direct current. It is characterized as a voltage or current that is constant or, more precisely, always in one direction. A battery is an example of a DC source. AC is alternating current. It is characterized as a voltage or current that is alternating, i.e. changing direction at some frequency such as 50Hz or 60Hz. The power supplied to your home from the public power utility is an example of an AC source. ac is attractive in nature while dc is repulsive .

What is the relation of ac and DC?

DC is direct current, a steady current supplied from a steady voltage. AC is alternating current changing like a sine-wave positive and negative, with the advantage that it can be changed by transformers. DC can be derived from AC by rectification and smoothing circuits, which are built into equipments which draw their power (AC) from public electricity suppliers.

What is D-C electricity?

DC electricity is direct current, compared to AC which is alternating current where the current is consistantly changing direction, direct current does not change direction. The main source of DC is a battery.
