The R makes 16 stops in Manhattan:
Yes, the R train (of the N-R-Q-W, the yellow line) stops at the 14th Street/Union Square Station.
MTA New York Transit train N, R, E or F to NYC!
Take the Q to 59th Street-Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. Transfer there to the Uptown R train, 1 stop, to Queens Plaza. Then exit the subway and walk 2 blocks along Queens Plaza South (where the Queensboro/59th Street Bridge runs) to 28th Street. The Q100 bus stops at 28th Street and Queens Plaza South, and travels over the Rikers Island Bridge to the Rikers Island Visitors Center.Note that Queens Plaza and Queensboro Plaza are two completely separate stations. The N and Q and stop at Queensboro Plaza. Only the R stops at Queens Plaza.
The train that passes 1260-1278 on 60th Street in Brooklyn, NY is the N train. It connects to R and Q lines. The D Line also passes the area.

I am confused by your question, because the D train (of the B-D-F-M, the orange line) does not stop at 79th Street. It's an express train, and it runs straight from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to 125th Street. The other thing I'm confused by is what you're actually asking: "where do I transfer?" You transfer from one train to another inside the station. I would think you would understand that already. The only train that stops at 79th Street is the 1 train (of the 1-2-3, the red line) at West 79th Street and Broadway. And it is the only train that stops at that station. There is no other train to transfer to.If you are sure that you're supposed to be taking the Dtrain, then: take the D train to 7th Avenue-53rd Street. Transfer there to the Uptown (Queens-bound) E train (of the A-C-E, the blue line). Take the E train 2 stops to 53rd Street-Lexington Avenue. This station is connected to the 51st Street Station on the 6 train (of the 4-5-6, the dark green line). Take the Downtown 6 to 14th Street-Union Square.

From where in Manhattan? Anyway, Take the 2,3 4 or 5 trains to the Nevins St station. 651 Fulton should be right upstairs at street level. OR The B, Q, M or R trains to Dekalb Avenue. At street level walk 1 block to Fulton & Nevins Streets.
