Best Answer

x ≠ y stands for x is not equal to y

x < y stands for x is less than y

x > y stands for x is greater than y

x ≤ y stands for x is less than or equal to y

x ≥ y stands for x is greater than or equal to y

Sometimes, because of the character sets being used, the last two may be replaced by <= and >=, respectively.

You may also come across x << y which stands for x is much smaller than y.
