Australia has few "taboos", but there are some behaviours that are frowned upon. Not showing loyalty to your mates is a big taboo. Big-noting oneself is a frowned upon, as it most likely is in many other westernised nations. For those familiar with the pub scene, not buying a round when it's your turn is taboo also.

There are no obvious taboos in Australian culture, or in its customs and traditions.

Some rules apply in Australia which may not apply in other countries. For example, smoking is not allowed inside any public buildings or on public transport. Australians also frown on people who swim outside the red and yellow flags at the beach. Far more tourists than Australians have to be rescued in the surf because they fail to swim inside the safe boundaries, away from rips and currents.
