There is an ongoing debate whether the Nile or the Amazon is the "world's longest river". A river is normally measured from its source to its mouth, but determining the source can be very hard especially when two tributaries merge to form another river. Is the merging the source, or is the source at the start of the longest tributary? Until geographers all agree this answer will be open to debate.
