There are many breeds out there but all the breeds I know of are:
Rex (or teddies), satin, standard self, Abyssinian, agouti (I have two agoutis and I recommend them!), crested, Dutch, Himalayan, coronet, Peruvian, sheltie, RARE BREEDS: alpaca, argenti, bicolour, brindle, Dalmatian, harlequin, magpie, merino, roan, texel and tortoiseshell.
I hope I helped!
PS: Mongrel guinea pigs also make great pets! If you are looking for a new pet guinea then I would recommend looking in a rescue centre first.

There are 7 types of guinea pigs that are recognised world wide! The main types of guinea pigs, (the ones your mot likely to find at your pet store) Are the breeds, American and the abyssinian. The other 5 breeds are, the teddy, peruvian, silkie, texel and coronet. There are also other breeds that arn't classified as pure bred breeds and a classic example of this is the hair-less guinea pig.
Guinea pigs can catch a cold from you.I don't recommend spending a lot of time with your pig when you are sick.
Some people in South America do, because they find wild Guinea Pigs there (South America is where guinea pigs originate from). Other than that, I don't think guinea pigs are eaten in any other main countries.
It can. Guinea pigs have differentnutritionalneeds than hamsters. Guinea pigs need a diet high in vitamin C. Also guinea pigs can choke on nuts and seeds. Best to stick with guinea pig food for guinea pigs. Try to avoid food with seeds andkernelseven if it isadvertisedfor guinea pigs as it is best to stick with pellets. Guinea pigs have a differentdigestivesystem opposed to hamsters. Be sure to have hay available for guinea pigs for them to graze when they want. Timothy hay is the main part of their diet.AlfalfaHay is best left to baby guinea pigs as it has highcalcium. Orchard hay is well liked among guinea pigs.
