In SOLID the molecules are regularly arranged in a regular patters and are held together by very strong intermolecular forces of attraction. the atoms of the particles vibrate their equilibrium position they cannot move from one place to another.
In LIQUID the molecules are close together but not as in a solid. the are not regularly arranged. the forces of attraction are solid but not as in a solid. the particles can move freely from one place to another within the volume of the liquid.
In GAS the molecules are very far apart and the intermolecular forces of attraction are very weak. the particles are free to move from one place to another.
Solid, liquid, and gas.
The atoms in a solid are packed tightly together with little movement. This is what causes the rigid structure of a solid. Atoms in a liquid are spread further apart than a solid, and will roll around each other causing the fluidity. Atoms in gas are not connected and move freely.
Solid, liquid, and gas. In solid the molecules only vibrate and it is most dense. In a liquid the molecules can vibrate and have limited movement and is at a lower density. In a gas the molecules can vibrate, move freely, and move at a rapid speed allowing them to bounce off of each other when they collide and has the lowest density.
If interested a 4th state is plasma which is when a molecule is stripped of all electrons.
*Water is most dense as a liquid at 4 degrees celcius.
The three states of matter are... Gas, Liquid, and solid
the Gas behaves almost completely empty, when the liquids swim and wander around like in a swimming pool, and the solid stays completely still Because they CANNOT move
In a solid, there are lots of intermolecular forces between the particles/atoms. They act packed together as if the object is full
In a liquid, intermolecular forces are weaker The liquid will also take its shape
In a gas, intermolecular forces are at their weakest. Because the gas has lots of space, the molecules move much faster...
well, that's all I can say

The four (not three) fundamental states of matter are solid, liquid, gas and plasma. In addition to these there are many more states which are found only in extreme environments: extreme cold, extreme density, extreme energy and so on. The Periodic Table usually gives the state of the element at normal pressure and temperature.
