What are the timing specs for a 96 Ranger 23L SOHC 4 cylinder and will the crankshaft position sensor cause it not to crank?
haha i asked this question and i can answer it now. I finally got my truck on the road !!
The location of the crankshaft position sensor depends on which engine the car has. If it is the 2.5L 4 cylinder engine the crankshaft position sensor is behind the ignition module. If it is the 2.8L V6 engine the crankshaft position sensor is on the side of the engine nearest the firewall and just above the pan rail in about the center of the block.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but on a 1998 Ford Ranger 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine : I believe the crankshaft position sensor is at the front of the engine When standing in front of the vehicle looking into the engine compartment it is just to the left of the crankshaft damper near the bottom of the engine
Is the Crankshaft position sensor Cylinder head Timing chain or O2 sensor not part of the internal engine system?
