what do you mean timing specs. your question is a little vague. are you talking about cam specs or ignition timing. the cam you line up the marks on the gear to the head and the ignition timing is about 15 degrees before top dead center
there are 2 timing gears one on the cam (top) cog, and the bottom cog the bottom cog torque spec was revised in 1996 at the 17mm bolt, to 94/ft/lbs

Remove the starter and hold the teeth on the ring gear with a large prybar and get a helper to undo the bolt. Or if you have a impact use that. Remember to put a bit of lok-tite on the threads and torque it to specs when you are done. I am assuming you are chaning a timing belt. Do not hold the engine from turning by the valvetrain, ex. Locking the cams in place and cranking on the crankshaft bolt. Removed starter! remember also to take the battery cables off if you havent already to avoid shorting out the electrical system.
