There is only one type of marsupial in America and that is the Virginia Opossum. However, due to the illegal trade in exotic animals, wild populations of wallabies are present in some regions. Further, due to the fact that some people tire of their exotic pets very quickly, there are also wild populations of sugar gliders present in parts of North America.
North and South America
America, or the United States, is a country in North America. America is also a supercontinent composed of the two continents of North and South America.
Tyrannosaurus only lived in North America, but its relatives have been found in North America, Asia, and Europe.
No marsupials originated in North America. The opossums that live in Central America, and the Virginia Opossum, which is found as far north as southern Canada, all originated in South America but moved to North America when the two Americas joined together about three million years ago.
Europe and Asia are considered the same landmass as they are connected by the continuous landform of Eurasia. The Ural Mountains and the Bosporus Strait are commonly used to distinguish between Europe and Asia.
