According to the biblical description, the territory which we now call Israel was, at the time of the Jewish exodus from Egypt, called Canaan, and it was inhabited by Canaanites. The city of Jerusalem was inhabited by Jebusites.
Israel doesn't have formal subdivided regions, other than general terms like the North, the South (negev), Central Israel, and Jerusalem.
The reason is evident; it´s their motherland. Israel and Judea were called so after the people who inhabited them for thousands years: Israelis and Jews.

There are numerous ancient cities all over Israel. Most of the Israelite ones are in the West Bank and Galilee regions.

The land of Judah is primarily located in the southern region of modern-day Israel, with Jerusalem being a significant historical center. Today, the area is part of the State of Israel and is inhabited by both Jewish and Arab populations.
