Type I - Reduced appetite or refusal to eat or maintain a healthy weight. In other words they just don't eat.
Type 2 - Reduced appetite or refusal to eat, and when they eat, will purge. In other words, they are pretty much the same as type 1, but they also show bulimic tendencies.

∙ 10y agoThe two main subtypes are restricting and purging. In the restricting subtype, the person afflicted simply restricts how much food he or she eats. In the purging subtype, the person afflicted may binge, but also purges using laxatives or diuretics.

With restrictive type anorexia nervosa, sufferers will starve themselves but do not purging food (e.g. through self-induced vomiting, using laxatives or diuretics).
With purging type anorexia nervosa sufferers will purge food if they feel that they've eaten too much to help control their weight.
