There are four types of brands
1)- Manufacturer brand or national brand
2)- Private brand or Retail brand
3)- Licensed brand
4)- Co brand
Now lets discuss it
1)- Manufacturer brand or national brand:-
when we design the product ourselves and sale the product on our own name then the brand will be national or manufacturer brand
E.g
Nokia,IBM and Sony etc
2)- Private brand or Retail brand:-
This kind of brand manufactured by another but sold in the name of other brand
means the producer and seller are not the same company the brand will be called retail brand
E.g
Levi's,
chief boot house (as he is not making the shoes himself but sold on his name after importing the shoes)
3)- Licensed brand:-
THis brand involves issuing license to other for example we are a medical company and have license to produce medical goods we issue this license to produce our copy right items to other medical company
4)- Co brand:-
When a product is produced by 2 companies combine then the brand will be co brand as as its name shows CO means together
