There is only one type of salvation in the New Testament and that is salvation by grace:
Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
It is the gift of God. A gift, of course, is a free and unconditional present. That is the only basis on which God offers salvation. The gift of God is salvation by grace and through faith. It is offered to all people everywhere.
Luke 1:69.
The new testament is about the life and death of Jesus, the messiah. Although there are many people who appear throughout the new testament like any of the apostles. The New Testament is also about the birth of Christianity, the spread of the gospel of salvation and the establishment of Christian churches. The New Testament also contains teaching for the new churches.
Much of the reason for events and doctrine taught in the New Testament are to be found in the Old Testament. The New Testament would be incomprehensible without the Old. The reason for Christ's coming to earth and why humankind are in need of salvation can be found in the Old Testament, particularly in Genesis.
There are three types of books in the New Testament. They are the Historical Books, Pauline Epistles, and General Epistles

Old Testament was pure promise and the New Testament looks back opon the fulfilled promise with universal salvation with personal reconciliation - sign your name on the dotted line.
This occurs only in parts of the Bible. The Old Testament comprises the majority of the Bible, written before Jesus was born. The New Testament has portions in which Jesus is to have said that one can only come to God the Father through him (thus achieving salvation).
The center of the New Testament is considered to be the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is a pivotal event in Christian belief. This event is central to the teachings and salvation message of Christianity.
The word salvationitself is mentioned 45 times in the KJV New Testament. Other words though will also contain a similar idea such as believe, faith in Christ (as this the means of savlation) etc
Theres 2 parts to the bible- the Old Testament and the New Testament. The bible is a book made up with may books or you could call them chapters. The New Testament is not one book. It is made up of a few books/chapters. So the New Testament is not a book in itself. Rather a part 2 of the bible. If you are thinking of names then the New Testament is sometimes referred to as the 'New Covenant.' The word 'Gospel' is also used loosely sometimes to apply to the entire New Testament, especially as the Gospel message of good news of salvation through Jesus Christ and its implications, is the one central theme.
The concept of salvation does not appear in the Old Testament; it is introduced in the New Testament. We are told that it is bad to disobey God, but nothing in the story of King Saul suggests that this would have caused him to lose his salvation. The whole issue of how people get saved if they lived and died at an earlier historical period than that of Jesus Christ is somewhat complicated and has involved the concept of purgatory, where the soul of King Saul presumably was sent, pending his salvation.
One book that discusses the plan of salvation is the Bible. It explains God's plan for humanity's redemption, which involves the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life for those who believe in Him. The New Testament specifically details this plan through the teachings of Jesus and the early Christian apostles.
