Plastics are used extensively in airplane interiors. Its light weight and comfortable feel make it an ideal material for interior panels.

Plastics are also used on the exterior of airplanes. Lights and windows usually use some sort of acrylic plexi-glass or plastic. On smaller planes the wingtips and tips of the stabilizers are often plastic, as are many of the cosmetic pieces which cover the landing gear and/or wing struts.

Aircraft cockpits often utilize a large amount of electronic hardware which is faced with or otherwise encased with plastic.
