3. Smaller size and weight.
The heart of the electronic fan regulator is TRIAC. TRIAC is a semiconductor device belonging to the family of thyristors.

∙ 10y agoFor a fan motor to run, it needs electricity. The regulator is the object through which this is supplied to the motor. If more of it is supplied then the motor runs faster, if less of it is supplied the motor runs slower. The Regulator is an object which allows mechanically to supply less or more electricity to the motor for it to run. Why we say mechanically, as the human is in cotrol by turning the nob clockwise / anticlockwise and supply more or less electicity to the motor through this regulator, for the fan to run faster or slower, as the case may be.
