An Auckland vet is calling for a ban on using a common rat poison in urban areas, fearing it will kill pet cats and dogs.
rat poisoning
The Auckland Vet Mark Clasper of Remuera Vet Medical Centre is asking for one type of poison the Auckland Council are using to be banned in urban areas. This poison cholecalciferol has a very narrow margin of safety, which means that even small ingestions of this poison can result in severe clinical signs or death of a non-target animal i.e. a pet. This poison has NO antidote, Dr Clasper has been treating Jasper, a local tonkinese cat who ingested this poison and although Jasper received prompt treatment he has suffered permanent kidney damage. This poison leeches calcium from the bones of the animal, and mobilises it in the bloodstream where it calcifies in the animals internal organs.

Sounds like you need to take it to the vet and quit asking people on the internet.

i really just depends. The vet may charge anything they want if they are the owner. I would suggest calling You nearest vet and just asking them.
Cribbing can be tough to stop once started. One idea is to get a cribbing collar. This makes it uncomfortable for them to crib. If the horses are in the stall excessively, you should consider more turnout and riding time. Also, toys in the stall can keep them busy. For more info, you could try asking your vet, or go to Smartpak Equine. They have an ask the vet blog site.
