2. He was a nice man.......................he wasn't. He was greedy and looking for fame. He cut of the natives hands who didn't bring him gold and wanted to make slaves out of them.

3. He was Italian...................he wasn't he was Spanish. He could only speak and write in Spanish. A man who grew up in Italy would speak/write in Italian.

4. He was a poor sailor...................he wasn't. He was actually from a noble Spanish family who were rivals of the crown of Spain and he took the persona of Columbus a poor man from Italy so he could get the crown to help him pay for the trip.

5. He died rich.............he didn't he died thinking he had been to India and died unhappy and poor fighting the crown for his title and money.
