There vast areas of vegetation and areas that are devoid of vegetation, often due to how deep they are and how much sunlight penetrates. There are also arctic regions of ocean floor as well as tropical regions. The ocean floor is really as varied as the continents above the water.
Ocean topography is very similar to that on land. The different conditions do result in unique features, however.
