Yes and no. The body will repair itself to the best of its ability, but this can cause serious problems afterward. Yes it will, but medical attention is still needed to immobilize the area where the stress fracture is until it heals on it's own. I fractured a bone in my left ankle and all they did was put a tensor bandage on it and handed me crutches. It did heal on it's own, but as I grew older I do have some arthritis in that area, but nothing I can't handle without medication. The doctor that attended to me said a clean break was better than a fracture. HUH? No one wants either.
