First, research about the JOB POSITION and the COMPANY you're applying for. It certainly impresses employers when an applicant knows where he's headed to and when an applicant is not entirely clueless of what his functions will be.

Second, research about CONTRIBUTIONS THAT YOU CAN IMPART to the company. Be prepared to cite some of their goals, mission, values, and even current challenges that it may be facing and state how you can add value or even provide solutions to these things.

Research for the PROPER WAY OF ANSWERING TRICKY QUESTIONS.

- Why did you leave your previous job (never say negative things about your previous employment - keep it positive or, at least, neutral)?

- What are your weaknesses (of course every person has - but how do you make them sound still good?)?

- Be prepared to ANSWER SALARY QUESTIONS. You need to research how much you're worth or how much you're willing to get paid.

Know Before You Go: How Research Can Help You Land A Job?

How many interviews have you gone to? If you are finding it difficult to get a job, take a good look at your interviewing characteristics. Are you coming off as confident and prepared? The best thing you can do is use the know before you go method. The fact is, research can help you land a job. By researching the company website before you go to your interview, you will be better prepared to answer their questions. View every page and take notes. This will help you to be better prepared to ask them questions about the company, as well. The preparation for your job interview will mean that you come across as more confident in yourself and your abilities, which could easily land you the job. The research you do will also give you an idea of whether or not you are the right fit for the company. If the company does not have its own website, find a site that lists information about businesses in your area. When this does not provide enough information for you, read information on the industry itself. Should you find the information interesting and feel positive about the job, you can relay this information to them in the interview. By telling them that you did some research and learned a few things about the business, they are going to take your initiative as a positive sign. When you go to the interview, be sure to take along the notes you have made and your printouts of the research you completed. What this is going to do is let them see that you know how to get information and you are prepared. Telling them you did research is one thing; showing them the research is much better. Research on the company you are interviewing can help you land a job much quicker than you could going in unprepared. There is nothing worse than interviewing an individual who knows absolutely nothing about the company and what the job entails. Prepared interviewees are every manager“s dream. Research every company before your interview and you can be sure that you will have more offers than you ever imagined possible.
