Three types of corruption in the Catholic Church are: # Selling indulgences to free the soul from purgatory. # Priests didn't know the basic church teachings. # Pope neglecting his religious duties. There are also other corruptions in the Catholic Church, but I'm only going to list three of them. Along with the above dated corruptions, the most current corruptions in the Catholic Church would be: # Modernism - the push for novelty for its own sake, neglecting Its own past and Tradition

# Liberalism - refusing to state or stand for truth.

# Secularism - losing the sense of the sacred in actions, words and members. Trying to appease the world at the price of the Faith.

Rather than symptoms of corruptions these three are actually philosophies that, unless checked, will blossom forth into abuses, much worse than anything that has been seen before. These philosophies have been targeted by popes and clergy ever since the French Revolution, however, their prevalence has never reach the level as it stands today. Many of the Church's current woes and the crumbling of the Christian civilization at large stems from the triumph of these philosophies.

Can you marry in a catholic church after divorce from marrying a protestant in a protestant church?

Yes, if you have gone through the annulment process. The Catholic Church view marriges in other types of churces as valid marriges, unless one or both of the spouses was Catholic. If this is not the case, the annulment process is much longer and more complicated.

What did the Catholic Church do to its doctrines that were being criticized by the protestants?

Well, the Catholic Church itself did not really change its doctorines. The Church is incapable of changing doctrines, as they are revealed by God, and not something made up by people. Some of the people within the Catholic Church were abusing the doctorines and practices around the time of the reformation. For example, some people were buying and selling indulgences, which is condemmed by the Catholic Church. Many Protestant Reformers were unhappy about these types of abuses.

Is the Roman Catholic Church from Roman culture?

Roman is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the Catholic Church. It is used because Christ's Vicar has been in Rome since St. Peter went there and was buried there. The Catholic Church was an institution founded by Christ for the salvation of souls. There are many rites of Catholic Church, all of which believe in the same things, but only differ in the way they do things. There is also the Byzantine Catholic Church, the Coptic Church, the Ethiopian Church etc. All of them are ONE CHURCH but have separate divisions. The Catholic Church is essentially built on Jewish belief, though not dependent on it. The Latin Rite Church (sometimes referred to {incorrectly} as the "Roman Rite") has incorporated whatever good things of Roman culture into it (eg. types of vestments)
