Two distinguishing characteristics of a mineral are its crystalline structure and its hardness. Other field tests would include a streak test and possibly a test of specific gravity. Color can also be of some use.

The woman announced she had two criteria for marriage: a guy with lots of money and only 10 years left to live. The science experiment relied on three criteria, but the scientists could only prove two items.

Yes, quartz is silicon dioxide (SiO2), sometimes called silica. In mineral classification it is a silicate mineral.
Color and streak would be the least useful, because they may be shared by a multitude of other minerals.
Cleavage is a minerals ability to break into even pieces useful for identification. Cleavage in two directions equals Feldspar for example.
well, first of all we have two major criteria that these two have some other criteria related that we name it sub criteria two main criteria are Socio-economic criteria and Environmental criteria subcirteria for Socio-economic criteria are accessibility to roads nad trade center of city and so on. subcirteria for Environmental criteria are slop, height and .... each of these have maps to overlay with each other

Two ways of identifying amino acids on a chromatogram are paper and gas.
density units are kg per cubic meter. if you reduce the weight, and reduce the size they cancel out, and the density is the same.

To my understanding, there is a rock/mineral hardness scale from 1-10. 1 being chalk and 10 being a diamond. To figure out if a rock/mineral is soft, they do a scratch test and which ever one looses bits and pieces is the softer of the two and visa versa. You repeat this step to see where it falls in the hardness scale.

If a cube of jello is cut into two pieces the density of the pieces do not change.
