to quickly tell someone something without having to wait for them to pick up and have a short greeting conversation such as:

*phone ringing*

...

you:"They need to pick up the phone!!"

*person picks up phone*

Person: "Hello, who is this?"

You: "hey its me"

Person: "oh hey how are you?"

You: "good, great, fine, i have to ask you something."

Person: "okay."

Simply texting someone the question and them writing you back saves time
