90% silver & 10% copper.
Total mintage of 1918 Walking Liberty halves is 20,769,040
Please take another look at your coin. It can't be a dollar because no US dollars were made from 1905 to 1920 inclusive. And it's either not a Walking Liberty half or not from 1915 because the Walking Liberty design was first minted in 1916.
A U.S. one dollar coin dated 1900 is a Morgan dollar. The Walking Liberty design was first used in 1916 ( to replace the Barber series) on half dollars only.
If the date is before 1965, then yes.Yes, but...There's US no coin called a "walking Liberty" quarter. The walking Liberty design was used on half dollars. STANDING Liberty quarters were minted from 1916 to 1930, and as noted in the earlier answer, were made of silver (90%, with the rest copper)
Please check again and post a new question. Walking Liberty halves were made from 1916 to 1947.
If it is dated 1916 or 1917 it would be below "IN GOD WE TRUST" on the observe. If it's dated 1917-1947 it would be to the left of "HALF DOLLAR: on the reverse. Keep in mind that not all walking liberty half-dollars have the D mintmark. If a small "D" is not in the above places it was made at either Philadelphia or San Francisco.
The US did not produce any half dollars (Walking Liberty series) for general circulation in 1925. Only commemorative half dollars dated 1925 were struck, and they made 4 different ones. Post new question with more information.
Please check the coin again and post new question. The Walking liberty design was first used on half dollars in 1916.A genuine 1836 US silver dollar would have a picture of a seated Miss Liberty on the front and a flying eagle on the back. 1836 is a fairly rare date for Seated Liberty dollars so any such coin should be authenticated by an expert. If your coin really has an 1836 date and a Walking Liberty design it's a badly-made counterfeit.
It was made in Philadelphia, the "P" mintmark was not used on a half dollar until 1980.
No, first off there were no silver dollars made in 1906, secondly, any dollar coin showing the Walking Liberty design (which would be the American Silver Eagle series) wouldn't be minted first till the 1980s. Half Dollars bearing the Walking Liberty design lasted from 1916-1947 so the Walking Liberty design wouldn't even be designed until much later than 1906.
The last Liberty Head half dollars were made in 1916. If you have a Bicentennial half with Independence Hall on the back, it's a Kennedy half.
No US coin is known as just a "LIBERTY" coin and ALL US half dollars have the word liberty on them. The first US half dollar was made in 1794.
