The best way to store wheat is whole. If you can keep it dry and if you can keep it clean and if you can keep any vermin from eating it, whole wheat will keep upwards of 6,000 years. Archeologists have found whole grains of wheat stored inside the pyramids, and it was still fresh enough to germinate!
