keep away from magnets !
magnets
Because floppy drives are irrelevant. A high density 3.5" floppy could hold 1.44 MB of information. That's tiny compared to the amount of data that will fit on a USB memory stick costing $1 or so.
They can hold more data than floppy disks and computers aren't really made with floppy disk entrances :)
A floppy disk DRIVE can read, erase and save information on a floppy disk. The disk can't do it by himself.
Because new computers have been built without the floppy disc drive and CD discs are much faster and easier.
Floppy Discs
In 1970 the eight inch floppy disk drive was introduced by IBM.
IBM invented the floppy about 1971 for loading microcode into their System/370 computers.
we have to be careful when sharing floppy disks with friends because as you know floppy disks are used for transferring small files between computers it might lead copy of small files and spread of viruses.
Most modern computers do not have any floppy drives at all. Ones made before 2001 generally had one. Two floppy drives was common only in very old computers with no fixed storage device.
Because floppy disks are obsolete, and CD-roms are more inconvenient.
The computers that cannot boot are usually newer models. Since the floppy drive has so little space available for data storage, it is outdated and not usually necessary on modern computers.
