The Apostle Paul expected the return of Jesus within his own lifetime. From what Paul said, he was preparing people for that second coming, not so much to build a church that would last down through the centuries. The author of the first New Testament gospel, now known as Mark's Gospel, agrees with Paul and also expected the second coming within the lifetimes of some of his own generation. This did not occur as expected, and the later evangelists had to emphasise that no one knows when Jesus will come. Other predictions of the imminent return of Jesus have been made quite frequently down through the centuries.
If there ever will be a Second Coming of Jesus, it seems most unlikely that it will occur in the lifetimes of anyone alive today. There is no preparation appropriate for this life, and we could never know how to begin to prepare in the next, if indeed there is a life after death.
The English Latinate Advent derives from the Latin word "adventus", which means "coming". Advent celebrates the preparations for the coming of Jesus Christ.
Jesus made no special preparations. The cross was always before him, which he called his baptism: But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! (Luke 12.50)
2012? no...what are the preparations if so? i'm freakin out a little
You would be quite late with preparations as many biblical scholars have placed Jesus' physical birth in circa 5-4 BC. If you are thinking of His promised 2nd Coming sometime in the future, the Scripture tells us to always be prepared and not get caught 'sleeping.'
Jesus is coming = Yeshu ba (ישו בא)
'Jesus is coming' is in Dutch 'Jezus komt eraan'.
What prepares us for Jesus' coming is the New Testament because it was before Jesus' was alive
Adam did not celebrate the coming of Jesus.
it means you see Jesus on a horse coming from a cloud

The second coming of Jesus is often referred to as the "Second Coming" or the "Return of Christ" in Christian theology. This event is believed to be when Jesus will return to Earth in glory to fulfill the rest of the prophecies about him.
