The Hunger Games and The Lottery are similar because both times, you are playing a game to win something, in the case of the lottery, it's money, in the case of The Hunger Games, it's staying alive and bringing glory to your district.
-Both of the main characters in the books are trying to save their family in some way (percy, his mother....and katniss her sister and mother)
-They both have settings in the wilderness.
-Both of them have some friend they must save.
basically everything is the same except the movie adds a few personalities to the tributes and misses some unnessasry parts, overall it is the same meaning a plot of course
